Droitwich Spa
Droitwich U3A was Launched in August 2012. A small town, we were told, would not have much demand. We already have in excess of 200 members!
Droitwich is a town 6 miles to the north of Worcester, 20 miles from Stratford-on-Avon and 22 miles from Birmingham.
It has been occupied since well before Roman times and is renowned for its production of salt, which still bubbles to the surface. The River Salwarpe runs through, as does the newly restored Barge and Junction canal which was built to move salt all over the world.
We have a general monthly meeting at 2:30 at the Norbury Theatre on Friar Street on the 3rd Monday of each month as well as having a lively list of more specific interest groups and activities. Any new ideas, facilitators and members are always welcome!!!
