|Wed Sep 17th 2014||"An Evening with Joe Swift"|
I am contacting you on behalf of Leicestershire and Rutland Gardens Trust, as we thought that our Celebrity Lecture this year might be of interest to your members
It will take place on Wednesday 17th September at 7.30 p.m. and our speaker is the garden designer, TV presenter and writer, Joe Swift. Joe will talk candidly about his experiences of being a garden designer - turned TV gardener. Having presented Gardeners' World, the Chelsea Flower Show and most of the other RHS flower shows for 15 years, he has some great behind-the scenes stories and anecdotes. Joe will chart the gardening trends that have come and gone over the years, talk about his allotment and his 2012 Chelsea Gold Medal winning garden.
The lecture will be held at Leicester University, Ken Edwards Lecture Theatre 1, University Road. (A location map will be sent with tickets)
The cost of the lecture for guests is £15, which includes a glass of wine or soft drink.
Profits from this event will go to the Trust's educational programme: "Schools into Gardening", which awards small grants to schools and other bodies to encourage young people into gardening. This year, we are committed to making grants totalling £1400, including a £500 grant to Maplewell Hall Special Needs School of £500, so we are very keen to ensure that we have a full house in order to maximise our income.
To book, ring the Events Secretary on 0116-270-5711 or visit our website: http://www.lrgt.org/celebrity-lecture--an-evening-with-joe-swift_E89.html

ABOUT THE SHOW
BEST NEW PLAY Critics’ Circle Award, Evening Standard Award
Richard Bean’s award-winning play is a glorious celebration of British comedy – a unique, laugh-out-loud mix of satire, songs, slapstick and glittering one-liners.
Fired from his skiffle band, Francis Henshall becomes minder to Roscoe Crabbe. But Roscoe is really Rachel, posing as her own dead brother – who’s been killed by her boyfriend Stanley Stubbers. Francis spots the chance of an extra meal ticket and takes a job with one Stanley Stubbers – but to prevent discovery, he must keep his two guvnors apart. Simple.
Take a look at the One Man, Two Guvnors merchandise range.
