Canterbury & District

All members of the Canterbury U3A are important as every one who takes part in any of the activities is contributing to the aims of U3A.
Some members have specific roles — click on Who`s Who.

If you have a general query about us, or about anything on our web site and are not sure who to contact, please send a message initially to our Web Master Janet Linington via the contact form below. She will either answer it or re-direct it to the appropriate person.

Our Chair, Robert Fisk, has his own page on the website, please click on Chair`s page to read it. To send him an email please use the form below.

New Members
We have four joining sessions per year, held normally near the end of September, mid January, beginning of April and mid June. At these we will inform potential new members of the nature and principles of U3A. We will tell you not only about courses our Members offer, but also about other events and activities throughout the year. Many of these you can find out about on this web site. If you would like to join please follow the instructions below.

To join just save the Membership application form on your computer, complete it, print it out and keep it safe. Then contact either Hugh or Christine Ritchie by sending them an email via the Membership Application contact button below, or telephoning them on 01227 470763 and they can give you more information and book you onto the next available Joining Day. At this stage do not send any money. You will be invited to attend the next joining session with vacancies and should bring the completed form with you. Membership(February to January) currently costs £20, or £36 per year for two people living at the same address who are happy to share Newsletters, Course and Activity information etc.

Can you help us?
U3As are entirely run by their members, drawing upon their skills, knowledge and experience to organise a wide range of activities. Members themselves run the groups, serve on committees, deal with the administration and organise outings and events. Everyone is encouraged to help in some way or another if at all possible. Please click on How can I help? to find out more.

New Groups
We always welcome ideas from members offering to organise and run new activities or new courses. Please contact Sally Burchill Director of Studies using the form below, or alternatively ring her on 07856 080 363 for further information and help.
