Welcome to Warrington U3A’s website.
How many times have you heard a retired person say ‘I don’t know where I found the time to go to work’ Well the U3A could be the culprit.
We are part of an international self-help, co-operative movement for retired people, providing opportunities to share learning experiences and enjoy social contact.
Warrington U3A is one of over 900 U3A’s in the UK, with a combined membership of over 300,000. Each U3A decides what interest groups it offers, and members are free to join as many or as few as they wish.
With over 900 members, we have more than 40 interest groups, from American Square Dance to Walking, Art to Tai-chi, Bird Watching to Square Dancing, Computing to Classical History, meeting fortnightly during weekdays.
Each first Wednesday of most months, we meet at 2.00 p.m. at the Winmarleigh Rooms, Winmarleigh Street, Warrington when we enjoy a variety of interesting speakers, share a hot drink afterwards and catch up with friends. New or prospective members are very welcome to attend this very sociable event.
Our groups mostly meet within the town centre and those that don’t are easily accessible by bus. There are so many activities and new friends to make that it can be difficult to choose which group to join. Meetings are free or a nominal charge. Whether you wish to learn a new subject, brush up on an existing interest or even consider forming your own interest group, the Warrington U3A is for you.
Membership for 2014/2015 is £25.00 but before you join you are also very welcome to attend a group meeting for a ‘taster’ - but beware, you will probably join. We only ask that, before you attend, please contact the group leader so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
Still interested; Good.
Then please feel free to browse around our website and learn more about us.
An application form can be downloaded via the How to Join link above.
